Practical tips for the first few days with HCK

HCK® micronutrients and biomatrix

The carrier structure of the HCK® micronutrient granules is a plant-based, hydrocolloidal biomatrix made of water-soluble dietary fibre. The micronutrients it contains are bound to this matrix and embedded in a nature-like structure.

In the digestive tract, the biomatrix absorbs water and swells. This creates a gel-like structure that brings the ingredients into contact with the intestinal mucosa over a large surface area, thereby supporting their availability.

In addition, the micronutrients are released with a time delay—similar to what occurs in natural foods such as fruit and vegetables. This means they remain available to the body for absorption over a longer period of time.

The first few days with HCK®

Water-soluble dietary fibre is valuable for digestion. If intake suddenly increases significantly, flatulence or a feeling of fullness may occur at first.

This occurs more frequently when the gut flora is out of balance after antibiotics, stress, or a low-fibre diet. Many people benefit during this phase from increasing the amount slowly and ensuring sufficiently high fluid intake.

Our tip: Start with a reduced dosage for 2–6 weeks and then increase gradually to the recommended daily amount.

Recommended intake of HCK® micronutrients

The HCK® micronutrients deliberately contain neither flavourings nor preservatives. This is intended to make intake possible even for people who, for example, react sensitively to certain flavour enhancers or may have an intolerance.

As a result, the inherent taste of certain micronutrients—especially B vitamins and amino acids—becomes noticeable and is occasionally perceived as unpleasant.

Taking with food

If you take the micronutrient granules with liquid, e.g. orange or vegetable juice, this inherent taste is masked. Please note, however, that the granules—unlike, for example, an effervescent tablet—do not dissolve, so they should only be stirred briefly and then drunk promptly. Alternatively, yoghurt, pudding, quark, or similar can be used for mixing to ensure easy intake.

Smaller amounts of granules can also be taken dry from a spoon and washed down with plenty of liquid.

Taking with a straw

Another option, e.g. for children or people who have difficulty taking granules or have taste-related reservations, is to mix the granules into approx. 1 dl of cold liquid (juice, water, etc.) and then drink the liquid using a slightly thicker straw/drinking tube.
